SQL Server 7.0 Not using 2nd processor?
Put my original processor back in by itself and machine is fine. The fact that the machine will not POST tells me that the processor is bad, but I just want to confirm that I am not missing a step. Perhaps an onboard reset switch like the Mac's have. Have a look at this URL: http://mbus.sunhelp.org/ It might help.

I have just installed the second processor and need to upgrade the software to recognize the second processor. The problem is that I cannot find my original CD. Other than hitting refresh, I can also simply move the windows or click on any menu item at the top to get the missing icons to appear. After installing the processors, I did update the Processor driver to Muliprocessor. I have also re-applied the SP in an attempt to resolve the problem. Nothing has worked.

One hopes for your sake that you do know the difference between those two concepts and you're merely not paying attention and missing the obvious for some reason, but it's hard to tell, I am not aware of an Intel processor that is little-endian in such a severe way that it reverses nibbles within a byte!

The problems are rather missing flow control and disabling of valuable TCP features. Oh definitely - Willy raised the CPU issue in another mail, I was just including my findings with a bigger CPU. The
customer had the licence for the second processor which I installed, but the server still doesn't recognise the second processor. I should probably add that this was my first time installing SCO on a server with dual processors, so I'm probably missing something really obvious.

Add a Second Processor
I've tried using the instructions given in Microsoft KB Article Q156358 (How To Manually Add Support for a Second Processor) to upgrade the system files. After I run the utility, NT won't reboot because is says that the file "fastfat.sys" is missing or corrupt. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I'm surprised you aren't getting any beep codes through the computer case speaker, while you're trying your various tests (like removing all the RAM should have given a beep code for "missing RAM").
